Released 2002 ZEEROK Productions
All songs written and performed by Zhenya Rock

"Slave" is the first true solo compilation of Zhenya Rock outside of the Red Elvises specter and is a musical journey capturing the very heart and soul of the man himself. Written and recorded at various breaks in-between touring and recording with the Red Elvises, "Slave" features a definite departure from the sounds of the Russian group. Each song gives a close a personal look into the life and soul of the artist himself; sharing his art, his gift, and his music.  Songs such as "Let It Rain", "Long Way Home", "Slave", and "Burning Pages" speak the very words of Zhenya himself: "Slave is very personal to me. Every word I sing, every note I play, I ripped from my heart."

Let It Rain
woke up in a cheap hotel, couldn't tell the day from night, I'm tripping all the time and,  I'm trying to find my mind, skin and bones is all have, am I real? do I care?, no wings could help me fly away, from all the pain inside, you were right, I don't have a perfect life, its okay, I'm going down anyway, don't be scared, it's all in your head, let it rain on all your pain, who's your god, that feels good feel so high, put a smile on your way down, trying to think of where to go, I could stay or I could move, makes no difference anymore now, cause I'm already home, mixed up the joy with the pain, mixed up the sunshine with the rain, I don't care too much and I'm, trying to find myself, you were right
I don't let anyone inside, its okay I'm going down anyway

Lay Me Down
I looked up to see the sunrise, I guess its time to go to bed, I don't remember what was going on, all I've got is an aching head, where did everybody go and who's, this girl with me I don't recall what went on, feels like so wrong so long
lets do it again come on, lay me down, go all the way, come what may, you break me down, and day by day, you blow me away, I don't mind you wasting all my time, I don't mind 'cause you're the best, you're the drugs the sex the rock and roll, you're the one and screw the rest, so what if I tell you that I'll hit the road, would you care if I go, it might be wrong its gonna take long, I wanna do it again come on

Long Way Home
I took a trip right through my head, shook the dust off the days I was dead, felt like shit from the smog in hollywood, never knew I was mama's boy, never cried over choo choo toys, hated growing up so I guess it was good, run away to settle down, found some time just to kill some time, live on a busy street but I'm still alone, all dressed up and no place to go, maybe i'll just go with the flow, maybe this time it will take me home, its a long way home, grass is green on the other side, trees are tall, snow is white, found myself digging for yesterday, looking through the cocktail glass, memories jump start my ass, hard to say goodbye to yesterday, well I'm getting smart at playing the fool, getting better at breaking the rules, still when the night comes I'm on my own, all dressed up and its time to crash, another drink another flash, so when I get messed up just take me home, it's a long way home, it's a long way home and I'm tired, thinking of who's still waiting for you, walk on water run through fire, 'til it all comes back to you, its a long way home

Slave
universe has no stars when you feel left out, but you're here to cheer me up, when I am down and out, you're the drug I always crave, I would die to be with you, burn me down I am a slave, and I only speak to thank you, and I still have a reason, to look for yesterday, feeling down sometimes, helps me smile everyday, universe has brought me down, but your lips have saved me, what a sweet and low down, perfect time to break me

Everyone Is A Clown
kick me down, down to the ground, kill me here kick me in the eye, nothing wrong being young and high, hell yeah, I'm coming down, hell yeah, its a crash, what do you care, its all the same, everyone is a clown, so move on, move on and glorify, I'm not the fish, the fish you want to fry, you're convinced everything does shine, you've never seen the world through my eye

Burning Pages
I'm burning pages of the book once made me laugh, I watch the flame go high, and every night I see you hanging in the sky, who taught you how to fly, I still remember times when we were running free, to the world outside our door, I don't believe that you don't hear me anymore, hey, hey, what do you have for me today?, I'm burning pages of the book once made me laugh, I watch the flame go high, and every night you're dragging me through that sky, I wish we'd never land, whatever happened to the angel with the smile, the child I knew before, I don't believe that you don't hear me anymore

Wish You Luck
I've been writing this forever, man, but I can put out what's on my mind, I was lucky just to meet her then, she was the finest girl that you can find, we hooked up about a year ago, on a sunday afternoon on a sunny day, she was skipping all her classes then, we used to make out in my room, and laugh all day, I guess I realized too late that, a sunny day could bring me rain, now all the images of us just, eating up my brain, so when you get your freedom, and you get your friends, I wish you luck I wish you well, I want to be the one, the one that you could give a chance, life without you just a hell, so we sit around the place again, cracking jokes, drinking beer, someone's trying computer games, someone's trying on his scuba gear, I don't even have a calendar, to look up the day we met, I wish there would be a shortcut, to where it takes me to forget

Show Me "In"
Rock 'n roll daddy on cement floor, all the lovers in you, no intention to cry, never press it on you, please stay this cool, let me know when you hurt, give me something worth seeing, your skin my heart, your touch is raw, Already it's late and we ought to get out, Come on and rise 'em creep 'em all now baby, I said I'm drained and its burning me out, It's best, its best so do it now, I mean it now, Portrait Now, this is how (I swear), don't blame summer's here too soon, show me "in" to you

Cold Heat
life was good when we first met, without even trying you turned my head, you chained me up right from the start, I didn't see the devil in your heart, looked around to find the way, it was little too late to run away, you didn't mean to make it blue, still I have a question for you, I wanna know how cool is the heat, how do you fall out of love, and land on your feet?, in the cold heat, now we don't live in the same town, cause when we together that brings us down, you're from Venus I'm from Mars, I guess we just blame it on the stars, writing letters just no use, why even bother its the same old blues, I'd be lonely you'd be too, still I have a question for you

The Couch
we stumbled up again, on our pride, then we burn the pain, in candle light, we're too young to see, that the love is old, its a tug of war and I am tired, and I'm cold but hey, it's all right, I'm sleeping on your couch tonight, hey, it's okay, tomorrow is a brand new day, tie me up and leave, if it makes you free, freedom is your choice, always be, this love boat is sinking, from the heart of gold, it's a tug of war and we are tired, we are cold
